Hybrid Replenishment and Dispatching Policy with Deteriorating Items for VMI: Analytical Model and OSJCA Approach

چکیده
This paper focuses on stock replenishment and shipment scheduling with deteriorating item for vendor-managed inventory systems. In consideration that demand process follows a typical Poisson process, hybrid replenishment and dispatching model with correction for VMI is proposed, and a combined solving approach named OSJCA is presented. As approximation of expected dispatching number per replenishment cycle is involved, a varying correction factor in the left half-open interval of (0 , 1] is introduced into the model. Therefore, a series of near-optimal hybrid policies rather than an exactly optimal one, under which average long-run cost is fairly close to the minimum, are obtained by solving a series of programming problems. In order to pick the nearest optimal one out, simuPolicy, a special simulation program for tracking the effect of any hybrid policy for any number of replenishment cycles, is developed in the environment of MATLAB. According to the suggested discriminant rules, the nearest optimal policy can be obtained by comparing results obtained through optimization and simulation one by one. Moreover, a numerical example has shown that the disparity between results from model and simulation under the nearest optimal policy is small or even negligible, thus the validity of our model and approach is confirmed.

An Inventory Model for Deteriorating Items Using Vendor-Managed Inventory Policy
In recent researches, vendor managed inventory (VMI) policy is rarely considered for deteriorating items. This study considered the supply chain partner’s collaboration via a VMI system and provided an EOQ model for a two-level supply chain (single supplier - single retailer) to examine the inventory management proceedings for VMI and non-VMI supply chains. By a new approach in modeling, the ...
متن کاملA new study of an EOQ model for deteriorating items with shortages under inflation and time discounting
We discuss the effects of inflation and time discounting on an EOQ model for deteriorating items under stock-dependent demand and time-dependent partial backlogging. The inventory model is studied under the replenishment policy starting with no shortages. We then use MATLAB to find the optimal replenishment policies. The objective of this model is to maximize the total profit (TP) which inclu...

This paper studies the economic-order-quantity model (EOQ) for deteriorating items in two cases (with and without shortages) to evaluate how vendor managed inventory (VMI) affects supply chain. We consider two-level supply chain (single supplier and a single retailer) with one instantaneous deteriorating item. A numerical example and sensitivity analysis are provided to illustrate the effect of...
متن کاملEOQ Model for Delayed Deteriorating Items with Shortages and Trade Credit Policy
This paper deals with a deterministic inventory model for deteriorating items under the condition of permissible delay in payments with constant demand rate is a function of time which differs from before and after deterioration for a single item. Shortages are allowed and completely backlogged which is a function of time. Under these assumptions, this paper develops a retailer's model for obta...

A deterministic inventory model with two levels of storage (own warehouse and rented warehouse) with non-instantaneous deteriorating items is studied. The supplier offers the retailer a trade credit period to settle the amount. Different scenarios based on the deterioration and the trade credit period have been considered. In this article, we have framed two models considering single warehouse ...
